1543	Bowen – 100-293-xx (Color) GMC Siversides Customization	Our Crown Corp archives contain many black and white Warren ... ↓↓↓ Bowen photos. But these are from Bowen color negatives of a GMC. Based on Facebook comments, we understand this to be a 1947-48 Greyhound Silversides that was customized by Crown. Another interesting thing in the color rear shot - the 1927 Sears store and mail-order warehouse on Olympic Blvd is visible, which means that the photos were taken on Orme Ave., by Soto St., in Wyvernwood Gardens, a spot where Dick Whittington and later Warren Bowen took photos from about 1940 until the late '60's. The proximity to the Crown plant helped helped make this a favorite spot. The warehouse portion closed in 1992, but the retail store lasted until 2021, with 94 years of service. The building is proposed to be preserved and converted to other uses. Look up both Wyvernwood Gardens and Sears Warehouse Los Angeles for a peek at an interesting segment of Crown's history. - Tom Shafer	`Image (Photograph / slide / negative)`

Former PBM President, Jim Husing, was the photographer from the 1990s.
