This Crown A -779 -11 Supercoach was built in 1952, as #4, for Los Gatos High School in Los Gatos, CA.
This bus was initially powered by a 779 cu. in. Hall-Scott gasoline engine. In 1970 it was repowered with a 220 Cummins diesel.
Los Gatos #4 was sold in 1973 to St. Francis High School in Mountain View, CA, and renumbered as St. Francis High School #3.
Pacific Bus Museum Member, Tom Shafer, bought the bus in 2001 after it was retired. He donated it to the Pacific Bus Museum in 2003.
It’s a school bus. They are universally loved, often as a kid’s first bus memory.
