Transportation Manufacturing Company (TMC) MC-9 #9049 was one of a group of 22 buses (#8038-9059) delivered to Greyhound Lines West in December 1984.
In 1991 bus #9049 was acquired from Greyhound by the Yosemite Community College District along with a second MC-9, GLW #9050. Both buses were renumbered 1502 and 1504 respectively. The college district reseated #9049 and #9050 from 47 to 43 passengers to improve the comfort of the district’s athletic teams.
After operating for the college district for over 20 years #9049 was acquired by the Pacific Bus Museum in 2015 from Yosemite Community College through the generosity of museum members who donated the funds to acquire the bus.
#9049 is powered by a Detroit Diesel 6V92 engine and an Allison 740 Automatic transmission.
