#2623 – Western Greyhound Lines

Initial Service

This Motor Coach Industries (MCI) model MC-5 was delivered new to Western Greyhound Lines in March 1964 as fleet number #2623. MCI built 300 model MC-5s in 1963 and 1964; 261 were assigned to Western Greyhound Lines.

Service History

#2623 was acquired by Yuba College in 1978. Its restroom was removed and the interior was reseated to 41 passengers. It is unknown what fleet number Yuba College assigned to this coach.

In 2000 the bus was acquired by the Yosemite Community College District in Modesto, CA where it was operated as fleet #1519 until 2011.

Pathway to PBM

In 2011 it was acquired by Pacific Bus Museum member, Tom Harris, who donated #2623 to the Pacific Bus Museum in 2017.

In 2025, after many years of planning, PBM repainted this coach with the original 1964 Greyhound gold-stripe Super Scenicruiser livery and reassigned it’s original fleet number #2623.

What People Love

The #2623 is in good mechanical condition. The exterior is in need of repainting.
