Using this great page from as a reference tells us this about General Motors model PD-4106’s:

  • P = Parlor (Intercity)
  • D = Diesel (until 1968)
  • 41 = Number of Seats
  • 06 = Series 02

The model number does not tell us about the General Motors powertrain (engine/transmission).


The PD-4106 was General Motors’ first production bus with the 8V-71 engine; 3,226 were produced from 1961 to 1965, 1,105 of those for Greyhound.

#172 – Las Vegas-Tonopah-Reno Stage Lines

This General Motors PD-4106 was delivered new to Las Vegas-Tonopah-Reno (LTR) Stage Line in 1964.

The bus was donated to the PBM in 1996 along with the five other buses of Richard Twining’s historical bus collection.
