Basic Info

Peninsula Transit Lines was the successor of Palo Alto City Lines, according to Eli Bail.

The 1956 Hitchcock says that Peninsula Transit Lines was located at 1841 Bay Rd. Palo Alto, CA. It serviced “Palo Alto, Redwood City, San Carlos and vicinity”. It lists this equipment and management:

  • 28 buses
  • 107 route miles
  • Owners John P. Demeter, Evelyn M. Knapp
  • General Manager Worth B. Prine
  • Superintendent of Transportation Lee Harper
  • Superintendent of Maintenance Sheldon Warren

The 1962 Hitchcock says that Peninsula Transit Lines was located at 1841 Bay Rd. Palo Alto, CA. It is described as “City, suburban and charter serving Palo Alto, Redwood City, Meno Park and San Carlos.” It lists this equipment and management:

  • 33 buses
  • 96 route miles
  • President John P. Demeter
  • General Manager Worth B. Prines
  • Superintendent of Transportation Peter Gerbo
  • Superintendent of Maintenance Sheldon Warren
