About Peerless Stages
Oakland 1922
Pioneer operator Peerless Stages began as a drivers association in 1904 running from Oakland to San Jose and Santa Cruz and later added suburban runs from San Jose to Alviso, Los Gatos, and Saratoga.
The suburban routes, but not the buses, passed to the Santa Clara County Transit District at its start of operations in 1973.

Three General Motors TDM-4512’s (#244-246) were delivered to Peerless Stages, Inc. of Oakland, CA in April 1955.
In 1996 Richard donated #246 along with the five other buses in his historic bus collection to the Pacific Bus Museum.
