Temporary Visitor – #1948 – Greyhound Lines

Frank Gonzalez brought this bus to display at the August 2023 Pacific Bus Museum Open House.

The IC-41 was a very successful postwar bus for ACF-Brill Coach Manufacturing Company from 1946 to 1954.

This bus is thought to have run for the Southeastern Greyhound Lines.

#8005 – Western Greyhound Lines
#8005 - Western Greyhound

This 1955 PD-4501 Scenicruiser was delivered, new, to Pacific Greyhound Lines in 1956.

In the mid-1960s Western Greyhound re-seated these “Travis” buses to 47 passengers to service route between San Francisco-Travis AFB in Fairfield, CA.

In Spring of 2003, the Pacific Bus Museum acquired this bus from the used equipment dealer.

PBM1 – Scenicruiser Party Bus
#PBM1 - Scenicruiser Party Bus

This 1955 PD-4501 Scenicruiser was delivered new to Southwestern Greyhound Lines in January 1956.

This Scenicruiser was customized for promotional use by the makers of Red Bull energy drink.

It was donated to the Pacific Bus Museum by Steven Hofmann in June 2023

#1947 – Pacific Greyhound Lines
1948 Greyhound Silverside

Originally this GM, PD-4151 “Silverside” was delivered new to Pacific Greyhound Lines in San Francisco in April 1948.

In early 1972 Greyhound sold its last group of Silversides to a bus company in Peru but the very last Silverside bound for Peru was never shipped. This bus became part of Greyhound’s Historic Bus Fleet.

The Pacific Bus Museum acquired #1947 in January 2023 from Greyhound.

#2623 – Yosemite Community College District
1964 Motor Coach Industries (MCI) model MC-5

This Motor Coach Industries (MCI) model MC-5 was delivered new to Western Greyhound Lines in March 1964.

#2623 was acquired by Yuba College in 1978. In 2000 it was acquired by the Yosemite Community College District in Modesto, CA

In 2011 it was acquired by Pacific Bus Museum member, Tom Harris, who donated #2623 to the Pacific Bus Museum in 2017.

#9049 – Yosemite Community College

This Transportation Manufacturing Company (TMC) MC-9 was delivered to Greyhound Lines West in December 1984.

In 1991 bus #9049 was acquired from Greyhound by the Yosemite Community College District.

#9049 was acquired by the Pacific Bus Museum in 2015 from Yosemite Community College.

#4708 – Santa Clara County Transit District

This GM TDH-5301 “New Look” was purchased new by Western Greyhound Lines in 1961.

It was later acquired by the Santa Clara County Transit District (San Jose, CA).

#4708 was was acquired by the Pacific Bus Museum in 1994.

#P1683 – Pacific Greyhound Lines
1956 Mack Greyhound commuter.

Pacific Greyhound Lines acquired 30 Mack built 1410 C-49 buses in 1957.

This, the only Mack bus in the PBM collection, was acquired in 1999.

#K1407 – Pacific Greyhound Lines

This GM TDM 5103 was part of a group of 37 TDM 5103s bought by Greyhound in 1951. Affectionately known as “Queen Marys” or “Queens” for their large (53-passenger) carrying capacity.

The PBM acquired the bus in 1994 in a trade

#1826 – Pacific Greyhound Lines

This GM PD 3302 coach was delivered to Missouri Pacific Stages in 1945 as #821.

The bus was donated to the PBM in 1996 along with the five other buses of Richard Twining’s historical bus collection.
