C. D. Beck & Company, of Sidney, Ohio, USA was an intercity motorcoach and transit bus manufacturing company based in the United States that was founded in 1934.
In 1953 Beck acquired Ahrens-Fox Fire Engine Company, maker of fire apparatus and transferred its production from Cincinnati to Sidney. In 1956 Mack Trucks bought Beck and closed it in 1958 after building 25 Mack Cruisers.
Total Beck bus and coach production was around 3150 units using Chevrolet and Ford chassis.
Greyhound and GM’s dominance in the bus market hastened the demise of Beck in the mid 1950s. Mack soon purchased Beck and built an updated model, the 97D. Few were produced and by 1960 Mack was out of the bus business too.
