San Francisco MUNI 3270

Click for larger imageThe PBM’s Muni #3270 was part of a group of 390 GM T8H 5305’s (#3000-3389) delivered new the Muni between 1968-70. #3270 was acquired by bus enthusiast Bill Wong, who restored the bus to its original maroon and yellow livery in the late 1980’s. The PBM acquired the bus from Bill in 1991. Since that time the bus has undergone extensive mechanical repairs and is currently used in parades, displays and other bus related events.

Powertrain: GM 8V-71 Diesel engine w/"Jake Brakes" and VS2, 3 speed automatic transmission

Body: Aluminum monocoque body construction, capacity 46 passengers, transit seats, w/two and one seating

Length 40 ft.- Width 102 in

Current Status

#3270 is operable, cosmetically restored and overall mechanically sound. New upholstery is needed for a number of passenger seat backs and cushions. Front dash and ceiling areas need repainting.
